Tennis for All:
The
Animated Tennis Book on CD
You can teach yourself, your kids and each other how to play tennis.
You can gain knowledge of tennis techniques / strokes
in a relatively short period of time.
Why does the animated tennis book exist ?
How do the pages work?
Who is it for?
The ANIMATED TENNIS BOOK makes plain how the world's
best players hit backhands, forehands, topspin, slice, serves, move
around the court,
and how
to volley and smash at the net.
From the simple flat drives of Evert and Connors to the extreme topspin
and power of Nadal and Roddick. From precise ball placements to cloth-ripping
kick serves, this is in-depth tennis technique re-interpreted by the art
of communication.
The Animated Tennis Book on CD ROM costs £35 plus p&p.

Aimed at parents, teachers and tennis players of every standard, the overriding
goal is to make high altitude technical knowledge accessible to all readers,
irrespective
of prior knowledge of tennis techniques.
I the Author became a member of the National Union of Journalists in 1987,
proposed by my hero of the written word, the late-great Malcolm Muggeridge.
‘How and why’ is a long story, but I taught the game for many years,
and covered tennis as a photographer / writer across two decades, contributing
to publications and tennis magazines around the world, including Tennis
(USA), Tennis Magazine (UK), Serve and Volley, Tennis World, The Times,
the BBC's 'A Question of Sport', and was a finalist in the Tennis Week
'Great American Tennis Writing Awards' (even though I cannot recall entering!)
In the 1990's I was the technical analyst for the (then) top German tennis
magazine Tennis Revue, where I was given relative freedom and monthly 3
and 4 page spreads to strut my stuff. I also sold a series of instructional
articles to the official WTA magazine 'Inside Women's Tennis'.
The original tennis for all web site was a recommended tennis site in The
Independent, was featured on the BBC's 'Click' program and web site, and
was one of only two recommended sites in the 2002/3 'Rough Guide to the
Internet' (the other was the best selling tennis magazine in the world).
The Animated Tennis Book is the fruition of the stubborn idea that knowledge
of tennis stroke-making can and should be available to all who want it,
which puts players of all standards in control of their own sporting destiny.
You can master the game if you have the knowledge.
You do not need the say-so of some controlling, central
authority.
This animated book is the work of a writer/photographer who wandered by
chance into coaching tennis (rather than a coach buckling under the weight
of
the written
word, or shackled by bland association terminology).
The full CD version took over twelve months hard graft
and contains over 50 parts, 50,000 words, 1000 frames of photography
and technical tennis knowledge spanning two decades... all for
the price of a
pair of tennis shorts, a one hour tennis lesson or a fraction of the cost
of a Wimbledon ticket.
Learn from it at your leisure.
Or ignore it at your on-court expense!
